	Musical group Salaam introduces Middle Eastern culture with a fun and exciting journey. Students are taken on a tour of the region, visiting seven Middle Eastern countries, beginning in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and ending in Istanbul, Turkey. String player Dena ElSaffar is also happy to focus the whole program on the music and culture of her native Iraq.

Middle Eastern Musical JourneY -Or- Iraqi musical journey
Students will hear music played on traditional Middle Eastern string and percussion instruments. A slide show runs throughout the performance to illustrate geography and to compare and contrast Middle Eastern to American life. Choose from two themes: Music of Iraq or Music from a variety of Middle Eastern countries. Performance meets standards in Music and World History.
