Musical group Salaam introduces Middle Eastern culture with a fun and exciting journey. Students are taken on a tour of the region, visiting seven Middle Eastern countries, beginning in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and ending in Istanbul, Turkey. String player Dena ElSaffar is also happy to focus the whole program on the music and culture of her native Iraq. | |

Middle Eastern Musical Journey
Students will learn a traditional baladi rhythm and greetings in Hebrew
and Arabic. A slide show runs throughout the program to help illustrate
geography and cultural facets and to assist in comparing and contrasting
Middle Eastern and American life. Salaam brings far away lands close to
home!

Iraqi musical journey
Students will have the opportunity to experience an in-depth understanding of the music and culture of Iraq.
