	Young Audiences Indiana’s Summer Arts for Youth program is honored nationally at a White House ceremony with the prestigious Coming Up Taller (CUT) Award from the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities! The Summer Arts for Youth program, the first Indiana winner of this distinguished award, offers Indianapolis-area young people a chance to work with teams of artists to improve and develop literacy and leadership skills during summer to build a foundation for success in the coming school year. Welcome to Young Audiences of Indiana! Now in its 47th year. Young Audiences is Indiana's only statewide organization that delivers arts education programs to schools and sites through our team of more than 100 professional teaching artists.

Why arts education?

Let's dispel the misconception that the purpose of arts education is to produce artists. Rather, it is to encourage and develop the imagination and creative capacity inherent in all children. (Actually, in all of us!)

Teaching in and through the arts utilizes the creative process and opens the possibilities for teachers and for learners.
